Morris Johnson Stadium will be packed beyond capacity Friday night when Bacon County opens the 2012 campaign against neighboring rival Pierce County.
Both teams are coming off playoff seasons and hopes are high for this year in both communities. The Red Raiders finished 7-4 in head coach Bobby Johns’ inaugural season while the Bears went 8-3 and captured the Region 2-AA title under Sean Pender.
The meeting between the two teams is the first since 2007 and the 26th overall. PCHS holds a 15-10 series advantage and has won two straight.
