BCHS (5-4 overall, 0-1 region) plays three times this week with two being region tilts. Vidalia comes to town today (Tuesday) for a 6 p.m. matchup. The Red Raiders visit Turner County Wednesday in a non-region clash and will host Benedictine Saturday afternoon at 12:30 p.m.

A one-out, run-scoring single in the eighth inning provided the only run of the game as the Blue Tide escaped with the win.
A leadoff single and an infield hit got the inning started for Long County. After a sacrifice bunt was executed, the Blue Tide scored on a single to left off Spires (8 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 10 K, 0 BB).
Bacon County left runners on base in every inning but the first. The Red Raiders came away empty after loading the bases with one out in the second. They had a runner runners on the corners with two outs in the third when the runner at first was picked off ending the inning.
BCHS left a runner on in the fourth and fifth innings. Another runner was picked off in the fifth. Bacon stranded a runner at third in the sixth and another at second in the seventh. They had runners on second and third with one out in the bottom of the eighth when the lead runner was caught trying to steal home on a double steal.
Spires, Jacob Holton, Dawson Dyal and Tyler Altman had the only four hits the Red Raiders managed.
