Senior Drell Green ran for three touchdowns and threw for a two-point conversion leading Bacon County to a 34-13 victory over Lanier County in the Red Raiders’ season opener in Lakeland.
The 34 points scored are the second-most ever for Bacon County in the first game of the season surpassed only by the Red Raiders’ 40-0 home victory over Patterson to start the 1964 season.
BCHS got a balanced offensive attack rushing for 200 yards and throwing for another 186 for 386 yards of total offense. This came despite four turnovers (three fumbles, interception) against the Bulldogs.
