Bacon County’s basketball seasons came to

an end early in the Region 2-AA tournament at

Toombs County Middle School last week.

The West fi fth-seed Lady Red Raiders (1-17),

who lost their fi nal six games, let a one-point

third quarter lead slip away in falling to the

East fourth-seed Metter Lady Tigers (6-21), 37-

30, in last Monday’s opening round.

The Red Raiders (10-9), the fourth-seed in the

West, rolled to a 72-53 win over East fi fth-seed

Long County during Monday’s fi rst round action.

The season, though, would end with a heartbreaking

49-48 loss to Metter, the third-seed in

the East, on Tuesday.

Bacon County’s Lady Red Raiders’ hoops season

came to a close last Monday with a 37-30

loss to Metter in the opening round of the Region

2-AA tournament.

The West fi fth-seed Lady Red Raiders (1-17),
