While Bacon Countians beseiged the Bacon County Library and Family Vision Care last week to get their free eclipse glasses, most of the community suffered what one observer termed “Anticippointment” — a combination of anticipation, followed by disappointment — last week during the big solar eclispe. A brief thunderstorm around 1:30 dampened spirits and temporarily knocked out the eclipse live feed at the Bacon County Public Library . Although the rain stopped before the actual maximum eclipse, cloud cover lingered making viewing of the eclipse difficult or impossible for many. Here, Kerry and Ann Russell, along with Kim Waters, caught a glimpse of the eclipse in between clouds.
